Berkeley Brainwaves is a 30-minute radio show, broadcasted on KALX 90.7FM and podcasted online, dedicated to telling the tales of Cal. Every other Tuesday at 9AM, we dive into the minds of our campus’s brightest stars — undergraduates, graduates, professors and staff — to share their stories of innovation, discovery, and passion.

Fiat Lux Redux
Since February 2023, Fiat Lux Redux has presented previously aired lectures, conversations, and podcasts originating on the campus of UC Berkeley every other Tuesday at 9 AM.
These often-lengthy original programs have been edited to a 30-minute format by KALX producers. The show’s name, a Latin phrase that means “let there be light”, is a reference to the University of California’s motto, which is also Fiat Lux.
The show’s goal is to provide listeners with a window into the intellectual and cultural life of UC Berkeley and to showcase the wide range of subjects and diversity of thought and ideas that are present at UC Berkeley. The show features interviews with faculty, students, and staff, as well as lectures and discussions from visiting professors and thought leaders. Fiat Lux Redux is a great way to learn more about what’s
happening at UC Berkeley and to hear from the people who are making it happen.
