Join The Graduates on Tuesday, September 26th @ 9AM to hear an interview with architect Valentina Krause from the College of Environmental Design here at UC Berkeley.
Valentina studies contemporary architecture, and specifically, memorials in the 20th century.
In the interview, Valentina talks about her past work designing and building a memorial to those lost to the military dictatorship in Chile, and her current research on memorials in the Bay Area, Buenos Aires, and Berlin. She also describes memorials through the every day and the ways that people use, interpret and interact with them, and defines what it means to be a memory activist.
The Graduates, featuring graduate student research at Cal, is broadcast every other Tuesday on KALX. Past episodes are available to listen and download free on iTunes or online. The Graduates is hosted by Tesla Monson, postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Integrative Biology.
