On Wednesday, April 30th at 1:30pm, Sex 14’s speaks with Ollie Judge, lead singer and drummer of UK band, Squid, ahead of their performance on May 4th at The Independent in SF.
Formed in Brighton, Squid is the brainchild of Ollie Judge (Drums & Lead Vocals), Louis Borlase (Guitars & Vocals), Arthur Leadbetter (Keyboards, Strings, Percussion), Laurie Nankivell (Bass & Brass) and Anton Pearson (Guitars & Vocals).
Squid are in a constant, energetic state of evolution which is reflected in the intense and infectious spectrum of sound contained in their propulsive songs. This wild and restless creativity points the way forward for a band with no limits on what they might do next.
Third and latest album, Cowards, is out now on Warp.
Ollie Judge has described the record as “like a book of dark fairytales.” By turns ominous and luxurious, it’s the band’s most restlessly expansive listen yet.
