Posted on March 19, 2024

Bartleby recently sat down with the notorious Bay Area duo, Moira Scar, to discuss their longstanding involvement in underground Bay Area music as well as their various projects and their upcoming show at Thee Stork Club on Wednesday, March 27th. Tune in on Friday, March 22nd @ 2pm to catch the interview.

Formed out of the ashes of their previous project, The Floating Corpses, the duo have been crafting a unique and interminably expanding sound, drawing on the influence of genres such as punk, industrial, noise, no wave, goth, and jazz since 2008. The group consists of the duo Lulu Gamma Ray and Roxy Monoxide, along with a rotating cast of Bay Area musicians filling in on drums such as Ryan King, Aimee S, and their current drummer Bil Bowmen.

Moira Scar has toured internationally and shared the stage with iconic acts such as Psychic TV, 45 Grave, and Hide, as well as taken part in guerilla street performances across the Bay Area. Their body of work has been released on labels such as Raskin Records, Psychic Eye, and their own Bat Noise Records imprint.
