Posted on September 7, 2019

critical resistance hq

Friday, September 13th @ 12PM, Method to the Madness host Lisa Kiefer speaks with Critical Resistance Co-Director and Media/Communications Director Mohamed Shehk.

Headquartered in Oakland’s Temescal District, Critical Resistance is a national non-profit grassroots organization building a movement to abolish the prison industrial complex (PIC). Founded in Berkeley in 1998 by activists & scholars including Ruth Wilson Gilmore and Angela Davis, Critical Resistance’s goal is to work for concrete steps that dismantle cages, surveillance systems, and policing to advance health and safety changes that speak to healing, stability, and liberation. They do this through grassroots mobilizations, popular education, campaigns & coalition efforts.
