Out of Meridian MS, Forbert arrived on the music scene in the late 1970’s, and had a somewhat fluke-ish hit in 1980 with “Romeo’s Tune”. Roughly in the same vein as writers like Warren Zevon or Bruce Springsteen, Forbert’s eccentric voice and well turned lyrics earned him a place in the pantheon of singer/songwriters.
