Max Lambert on The Graduates

Posted on January 17, 2022

Have you ever wondered: Should I release my pet turtle into Jewel Lake? Well, then tune in to The Graduates this Tuesday @ 9AM because our guest Max Lambert, a former postdoc in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, has the answer. (But just in case that doesn’t work and you don’t tune in, you should still know the answer is no. Don’t do that.) In addition to talking about how invasive red-eared sliders are impacting native Western pond turtles in nearby bodies of water, Max discusses his new role as a senior scientist with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. He also reflects on the path that led him there and the things he’s taken from his postdoc and his PhD.

The Graduates, featuring graduate student research at Cal, is broadcast every other Tuesday on KALX 90.7 FM. Past episodes are available to listen and download free on iTunes or online. This episode of The Graduates was hosted by Andrew Saintsing, a PhD candidate in the Department of Integrative Biology.
