Join DJ Velvet Einstein on Tuesday, November 30th @ 11:45AM when he speaks with prominent Persian vocalist, Mahsa Vahdat, ahead of her live performance with Kronos Quartet this Thursday evening at Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley.

Tune in to learn about how Vahdat sets Iranian poetry to music, her journey from Iran to the United States, and her love of the Berkeley Rose Garden at twilight.

Mahsa Vahdat is an award-winning, prominent  Iranian singer, composer and cultural activist dedicated to both her personal lifelong musical and artistic path and the greater cause of freedom of expression.  With her profound command and vision on Persian music treasury, Vahdat has developed a highly personal  style of performance, rooted in Persian classical and regional vocal music traditions  and complex system of modes, melodic motives, and ornamentation  infused with contemporary  and innovative expressions and influences.

Cal Performances Presents Kronos Quartet with special guest Mahsa Vahdat on Thursday, December 2nd at Zellerbach Hall on the University of California campus.  Show is at 7:30pm and is All Ages.
