KALX, Bloody Racket, and Ivy Room present two UNSANE nights, with sets featuring mostly early material from the New York City-based post-hardcore noise rock band’s saw-toothed career. The power trio’s ragged, aggressive sound has enthralled misanthropes and malcontents from the art-damaged to skate punks off and on for the better part of three and a half decades. Guitarist/vocalist/founding member Chris Spencer enlisted a new lineup—with bassist Eric Cooper and Jon Syverson (Daughters) pounding drums— to perform various raw and bloody gems from 1988 to 1992 on the heels of reissuing both UNSANE’s eponymous 1991 Matador album and their “thought lost but recently found” Improvised Munitions album from 1989 on Spencer’s own Lamb Unlimited label.
UNSANE will be supported by SEIZED UP! (ex-Bla’st, Nerve Agents, Good Riddance, Distillers) and Disastroid on 2/13 and Frisco and Reptoid on 2/14.
