Posted on April 4, 2018

Tune in to The Graduates on Tuesday, April 10th @ 9AM for a rocking interview with Jimena Diaz from the Department of Environmental Science Policy and Management at UC Berkeley.

Jimena is an interdisciplinary scientist who combines insights from political ecology and ecology to better understand the complexities of society-nature interactions. In the interview, Jimena tells us all about the ways in which small scale gold mining impacts bio-contamination across species, her methods of working with insects abroad in Peru, as well as the emotional and political aspects of her work.

The Graduates, featuring graduate student research at Cal, is broadcast every other Tuesday on KALX. Past episodes are available to listen and download free on iTunes or online. This episode of The Graduates is hosted by Mattina Alonge, PhD Student in the Department of Integrative Biology.
