Tune in on Friday, December 23rd at 12pm to hear Catatonic and DJ Beast Monster Thing in conversation with Jeff Rosenstock and Laura Stevenson before they hit the stage at Bottom of the Hill in SF on November 18th, on a tour aptly named “playing some Neil Young songs and also some other songs.”
Long time collaborators, Rosenstock and Stevenson go way back to the days of ska-punk collective Bomb the Music Industry! but their musical collaboration has undergone a large tonal shift and settled down with two EPs of Neil Young covers. Still Young and Younger Still, released in 2019 and 2022 respectively, contain eight total tracks of laid-back and intricately arranged versions of Neil Young classics.
Stevenson and Rosenstock reflect on Young’s removal of his music from Spotify in protest, the ethics of music-streaming, making music together as a way of staying connected during the pandemic, and the correct pronunciation of “acoustic.”
