Posted on November 30, 2016

helenkurkjian

Join us on Tuesday, December 6th @ 9AM for the last new episode of The Graduates for the 2016 year, as we speak with ecologist Helen Kurkjian in the Department of Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley! Helen’s research focuses on spatial questions, migration pathways and dispersal corridors, and how bacteria move across landscapes.

In the interview, Helen talks about inventing new equipment for her dissertation research, and why she is interested in experimental design. Helen also briefly discusses her past work on the demography of Lassic Mountain lupines, and the importance of outreach and the scientific community.

The Graduates, highlighting graduate student research at Berkeley and around the world, is broadcast every other Tuesday at 9AM. Past episodes are available to listen and download free on iTunes or online. The Graduates is hosted by Tesla Monson, PhD Candidate in the Department of Integrative Biology.
