Emily King on The Graduates

Posted on April 20, 2019

EmilyKing

Tune in to The Graduates this Tuesday, April 23rd @ 9AM for an interview with Emily King from the Department of Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley. Emily is a PhD candidate whose research is focused on the New Zealand mud snail. She wants to understand the features that have allowed this small animal to flourish across a wide range of habitats here in the western United States. While your gut reaction may be to write these mud snails off as invasive species that need to be eradicated, Emily also offers some insight into the complexity involved in understanding and managing invasive species.

The Graduates, featuring graduate student research at Cal, is broadcast every other Tuesday on KALX 90.7 FM. Past episodes are available to listen and download free on iTunes or online. This episode of The Graduates is hosted by Andrew Saintsing, a PhD student in the Department of Integrative Biology.
