Barbara Dane’s career began in the late 1950’s, she’s been cited as an inspiration by Bob Dylan, has performed with Louis Armstrong and has recorded with The Chambers Brothers and Lightnin’ Hopkins. She has a new cd retrospective on Smithsonian Folkways and will be celebrating her 91st birthday in concert at the Freight & Salvage in Berkeley on May 17th.
