awakebutstillinbed is the brainchild of frontwoman Shannon Taylor, who crafted the songs on the band’s debut album, what people call low self esteem is really just seeing yourself the way other people see you ,to create a record that is both emotive and accessible. The dynamic nature of their songs, with screams, murmurs, bright guitar riffs, and synths, finds moments of catharsis as well as danceability.
