Andrew W.K. Interview with DJ Sharkey

Posted on February 26, 2012

Andrew1

At 1:00pm on March 6, join DJ Sharkey on the KALX airwaves for an in-studio interview with the one and only Andrew W.K.

Andrew W.K.’s iconic debut album, I Get Wet, was released on November 13, 2001; on his current tour, he’s playing the entire album every night in honor of its 10th anniversary. Since then, he has been, in turn, baffling and enthralling audiences with not only his headbanging party rock music (which, in reality, reveals an ABBA-like pop mastery), but also his striking enthusiasm, his apparent friendliness, and his disarming openness. For the last few years, he’s taken left turn after left turn (touring with a string quartet, releasing a solo piano album, enjoying ringtone fame in Asia, hosting a kids’ game show on Cartoon Network), only to come full circle this year.
