On Art Crush, Monday, October 29th @ 9AM, hosts Jozefien and Svea visit the studio of Oakland artist Alicia McCarthy.
McCarthy is known for being a member of the ‘Mission School’ (a title she shies away from) and creates colorful, detailed abstracts in paint and colored pencils. She is a 2017 winner of SFMOMA’s SECA award, and is currently working on a largescale glass installation for the San Francisco Airport. Her studio is full of her own work, and also the work of friends alive and dead.
