Legendary musician and writer Lenny Kaye joins Carolyn in the KALX studios to discuss the 50th anniversary of the seminal Nuggets compilation and Kaye's latest book “Lightning Striking” which has just been released in paperback.
Kaye will be joined by local musicians to perform and celebrate the songs from Nuggets at the Chapel in San Francisco on Tuesday, May 23.

May is Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. While many KALX DJs are highlighting the music of the many cultures included in this celebration, DJ Dokkaebi's celebration of AAPI music the other day was especially good. Formed in 2016, Absolute Darkness is a Death/Thrash band from the San Francisco Bay Area. They combine influences of Cannibal Corpse, Death, and Amon Amarth, with the Bay Area thrash sounds of bands like Testament, Violence, and Exodus to form an unapologetically dark and politically charged sound of their own.
