NoSo, Squirrel Flower, and Maria BC put on a bone-chilling and ethereal performance that could only be described as a haunting, warm musical experience where the audience more closely resembled swaying kelp than the typical moshing and frantic imagery associated with indie pop or rock concerts.

On February 16th, alternative R&B artist Steve Lacy brought out a crowd rivaling that of the population of a small nation. Packed like sardines in Oakland’s Fox Theater, this sold-out show attracted fans from far and wide hoping to catch a glimpse of gen-z’s latest prince of indie pop. Following a tour plagued with criticism, Lacy provided not only his signature blend of jazz inspired R&B, but also a candid glimpse into the mind, ego, and personality of the icon himself.

In honoring Tom Verlaine, The Berkestir will feature music of Television, Tom's solo works, Tom's work in The Million Dollar Bashers on the "I'm Not Here" Original soundtrack, and a song he co- wrote with Patti Smith.

On Radio Dunya Feb 27th 11:59p until Feb 28th 1am dj Amaing Grace presents a brief overview of one of her favorite music sources---London-based indie label Soundway Records. Tunes will range from their first 2002 release to music issued in January of 2023. There will be high-energy music spanning multiple decades and countries, from reissues of 1970s Ghana funk and nightclub sounds that began the label to the current wide-ranging cross-cultural artists on their roster.

The standing room surrounding the stage at Cornerstone on the evening of February 11th began sparse and scattered, dotted with both couples and solo attendees anticipating the start of the show. By the time the opening band, Pure Adult, was completing their set, the onlookers had gathered and condensed, gravitating towards the front to absorb the buzzing energy generated by the band.
