MAX MARCIL – 2026 TEE SHIRT DESIGN
Max Marcil is an artist, designer and UC Berkeley alumnus from the Bay Area. He specializes in brand design, motion graphics, illustration, and apparel. His side project, Sinew Creative, offers horror-themed sweaters and other original works of art with macabre flair. When he isn’t toiling away in the studio, he can be found haunting local beaches or wing foiling at the Berkeley Marina. Explore his work and find out how he can help transform your business at MaxMarcil.com, or on Instagram @maxhmarcil and @sinewcreative
DAVE BERGMAN – 2026 SWEATSHIRT DESIGN
Dave Bergman is a designer, artist, illustrator, animator, writer, musician, parent of two, and all-around dilettante know-it-all, who would be an asset to any semi-competitive pub trivia team, fintech startup, or graffiti crew. He is a former college radio deejay and a regular KALX listener. Some of his projects include a survey of endangered neon signs of which he scratch-made models/Christmas tree ornaments; an illustrated guide to the NATO alphabet; a periodic spiral of the elements; and a series of paintings titled, “Hyperbole: From Acme to Zenith.” He staged a yard sale where everything was free, but if you took something, you had to promise to give something of equal value away to someone else. He once drew one terrible person a day for 90 days in a row to protest a certain awful administration. Dave plays drums in San Francisco punk band Agony Aunts and lives in the city with his family. At one time Dave was an arts writer for the Daily Cal, and he received a lovely piece of hate mail, typed on a real typewriter, from a person named Gary Fembot, for foolishly claiming the Go-Go’s weren’t real punks. Dave says, “Gary, if you happen to read this, you win—I concede the point.”
ABBY STEFFENS – 2026 STICKER
My name is Abby Steffens, I am a Berkeley alum who loves KALX. My design is inspired by my time at Berkeley listening to KALX on the glade with friends and watching ladybugs land on our hands and ankles and toes. Drawn in Procreate. Cheers to your ability to foster art and creativity among the public! I hadn’t made an art piece in a long while so this was a lot of fun.

KARINA HERNANDEZ – 2026 STICKER
Hey KALX nation! My name is Karina Hernandez, a first year student at UC Berkeley. Alongside majoring in English I’m also a part of KALX’s Publicity department. Drawing and crafts have always been some of my favorite things, so I’m really glad I get this opportunity to share some of my work while also helping KALX promote the amazing station we all help run. I appreciate the time I’ve spent with KALX, and I hope to continue working with the team for many years to come!
