The Linda Lindas are back in the Bay! Were you at the Giants’ ballpark when they opened for Green Day in ’24, their show at the Regency in ’23, their high voltage Mosswood Meltdown set in ’22? Whether yes or no to all three its time to roll downhill from campus to witness a headlining night one on this side of the Bay before they head to The Fillmore on the 21st.
On Thursday, March 20th, The UC Theatre in Berkeley will be the preview for a whole tour as they start their 22 date run with three in Northern California in case you want to follow them to Sacramento for Night 3. Get there early for Be Your Own Pet who kick off the show.
Half Asian and half Latinx. Two sisters, a cousin, and their close friend. The Linda Lindas channel the spirit of original punk, power pop, and new wave through today’s ears, eyes, and minds. Mila (11), Eloise (13), Lucia (14), and Bela (17) first played together as part of Kristin Kontrol’s pickup cover band comprised of inexperienced kids for Girlschool LA in January 2018, where they were joined by Bobb and Bethany from Best Coast and Karen O. That summer, Bela asked Lucia, Eloise, and Mila to back her up on a few songs at a Hi-Hat gig, and the group was born.
Fast forward to consistent touring years later the band is now supporting last October’s release of their sophomore record; No Obligation. Joining The Linda Lindas on tour and all you need to know to get there early is Be Your Own Pet who kick off the show.
The UC Theatre is located at 2036 University Ave in Berkeley. All ages & wheelchair accessible (any accessibility needs should be requested in advance with the venue). The doors opening at 7:00pm with music starting at 8:00pm. Tickets are available here while they last.
