On Sunday, October 4th, KALX and Great American Music Hall welcome Groundation. With nearly three decades in reggae music, 11 studio albums, and countless world tours, Groundation has firmly established itself as a cornerstone of conscious roots reggae. Blending deep roots rhythms with jazz-inspired improvisation, odd-meter compositions, and adventurous harmonic structures, the band has created a sound often described as “Reggae-Jazz Fusion.” At the heart of it all are lyrics that challenge, inspire, and offer thoughtful commentary on the world we live in and the future ahead.
The group returns to the Bay Area for a hometown show on October 4th at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Groundation will bring their latest album, Candle Burning, to the stage alongside classics from their extensive catalog.
