Treasures Untold : A Modern 78 RPM Reader is a 10 x 10″ 155 page hardback book with CD, ltd ed of 1000, numbered foil stamp. Released exclusively on Record Store Day US & UK/EU – April 12, 2025.
The CD contains ten covers of 78-era songs by artists such as Luther Dickinson, R.Crumb, William Tyler, Muireann Bradley, Gwenifer Raymond, Michael Hurley, Billy Childish and more. Eight of the ten songs were recorded specifically for the project.
The writing is by collectors, ethnomusicologists, dealers, archivists and producers, including an interview with Ian Nagoski and Dick Spottswood, 14 year old collector and DJ Jay Burnett, Eli Smith (Brooklyn Folk Festival), John Heneghan, Nathan Salsburg and more. Book designed by Grammy-nominated Barbara Bersche (Lomax Haiti box set, Harry Smith B-sides box set).
