Ears of Maize recently sat down with Jimmy James, guitarist of Loveland, OH based organ trio, Parlor Greens. Tune in on Monday, March 16th at 1pm to hear about the group’s musical influences, the freedom that comes with playing in a trio, and some of James’ dream collaborations.
Catch Parlor Greens at one of their upcoming Northern California shows: Moe’s Alley in Santa Cruz on March 18th, Torch Club in Sacramento on March 19th, and The Independent in SF on March 20th.
Latest album, Emeralds (Colemine Records) finds the trio serving up a beautifully curated sampler of what funky organ music can be. On Parlor Greens’ debut LP In Green We Dream, they announced their existence boldly to the welcoming arms of funky instrumental fans around the world. Now, two years later, they’re back to up the ante. Three true masters of their respective crafts: Tim Carman (Canyon Lights, and formerly of GA-20) on drums, Jimmy James (True Loves, and formerly of Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio) on guitar, and Adam Scone (Scone Cash Players, The Sugarman 3) on organ. Seasoned and soulful pros coming together to make infectiously funky instrumental jams.
The trio are truly in top form: tour tight and more confident than ever in who they are and where they’re going.
