Getting To Know The Altons

Posted on May 5, 2025

The Altons sitting in a room together.

On Wednesday, May 7th at 6:30pm,  Donut Monoxide airs her recent chat with Southeast L.A. Soul group, The Altons.

Tune in and enjoy listening to a thoughtful, but easy easy going conversation about recording the album live in Daptone studios, the collaborative process of songwriting, and the joys of deep listening.

Chris Manjarrez, Adriana Flores, Caitlin Moss, and Bryan Ponce formed The Altons out of a desire to celebrate the music they so love, and to push Soul Music beyond the usual boundaries. While they have previously released singles and toured extensively, The Altons have only just recently released their debut LP, Heartache in Room 14 (Daptone Records), which is proving to be one of the must have releases of 2025.

Their music is driven by intense grooves from the rhythm section that will bring you to your feet, while soulful leads inspire lovers to dance a little closer. When they take control of any stage you can always expect a fun and energetic time.
