Bhai Bhai Soundsystem, is an electronic DJ collective redefining Bangla music. Based in the bustling megacity of Dhaka since 2022, the trio of Shoummo Saha, Sakib Tonmoy, and Hasib Mahmud are building the spaces and sounds of the Bangladeshi underground.
The collective hosts workshops introducing young people to electronic music production, hosts safe places for people to dance, and works to merge traditions of Bangladeshi folk music with sounds more often found in clubs of London or Berlin.
Amidst recent global collaborations with the electronic music powerhouse of Keep Hush as well as sets in Sri Lanka and Kathmandu, Shoummo and Hasib take a moment to speak with KALX DJ Reality Check and Emmanuel Singh, from the Oakland-based DJ collective Couchdate, about Bhai Bhai, and their process of making a mark on the global electronic music scene.
