Bartleby Hosts The Mutilations Live In-Studio

Posted on August 7, 2024

Four band members around their instruments in a faded photograph

The Mutilations are Eric Escobedo, Darian Costa, and Jordan Macapagal, and Jesse Cruz. They’re childhood friends from San Leandro, California.  They love music, film, comedy and make all three–except, maybe, the last one.  They’ve been compared to the Beach Boys if the Beach Boys were bad at music, and playing under a highway overpass.

But at the end of the day, The Mutilations are an experience. A cult defined by oddity and a DIY philosophy. They produce their own music videos, demos, and merchandise. Hell, they even do their own Tik Toks. Well, Jordan does.

The band is taking over the studio with a live set as Bartleby opens the door. Crank the radio on September 6th at 2pm. To see the band for yourself you’ll have to head to the Southland in October. The East Bay crew play October 11th in LA (Harvard & Stone) and October 13th in Long Beach (The Vine).
