Tune in on Monday, April 7th at 10am to hear Jon The Reptilian speak with Bay Area singer-songwriter, Andrea Prichett, ahead of her upcoming show at Freight & Salvage in Berkeley on April 12th.
Prichett will be performing with Shelley Doty (guitar) Michaelle Goerlitz (drums), Deb Hungerford, Marina Garza and Kasey Knudsen from Shake it Booty Band, and more!
Andrea started playing The Freight with her former fresh radical folk band Rebecca Riot in the 1990’s and has continued to sing and write songs with a conscience ever since. With Berkeley as her home base for decades and her many years of activism to draw upon, Andrea uses her bluesy, alto voice to deliver original songs that reflect the gritty realities and tender hopes of these times.
She is known for her rich vocal performances and her political and topical songwriting style. With only her voice and guitar, she can deliver a powerhouse performance. With the release of her new album The Frame, Andrea demonstrates her growth as a songwriter and a definite desire to let the music speak for itself. The debut of her new band known simply as Andrea And Friends provides the full range of her acoustic power and also lets her stretch out into the more rhythmic and folk /rock/R&B that is a natural fit.
